The external auditor has now completed their review of Bingley Town Council's Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) for the year ending 31st March 2024 and have confirmed in their opinion that the information in sections 1 and 2 of the AGAR is in accordance with proper practices and no other matters have come to their attention giving cause for concern that relevant legislation and regulatory requirements have not been met.

The Town Council agrees the Budget for the following financial year annually in January, which sets the precept for the year also.

Precept
The precept is what residents pay on top of council tax to keep the Town Council operating. It enables us to provide services and projects which enhance Bingley as a place in which to live, work and visit.
This year the precept was set at £238,290, which is £27.75 for a Band D property and a 0.14% decrease on last year's figure. Last year the precept was set at £238,242, which is £27.79 for a Band D property, and was a 0.19% decrease on the previous year's figure.
